Graag verwelkomen we u bij ons concert in onze serie Kamermuziek onder de Dom met het Rietveld Ensemble op zondagavond 22 oktober a.s., om 20.00 uur in de Marnixzaal in De Utrechtse Muziekschool, Domplein 4, Utrecht.
Wij spelen werken voor blazers en piano, in verschillende combinaties. Voor de pauze hoort u een drietal werken uit de 20e en 21e eeuw. Na de pauze kunt u luisteren naar het geliefde kwintet voor piano en blazers in Es, van Mozart. |

Het concert opent met de Sonatine van Jolivet voor hobo en fagot (1961), een verborgen pareltje in de wereld van de kamermuziek. De instrumenten gaan in levendige dialoog, waarin ritmische en lyrische passages elkaar afwisselen, in prikkelend dissonante of juist aangenaam harmonische klanken. |

Het sextet (1933) van de Nederlandse componist Leo Smit was geschreven voor leden van het Concertgebouworkest. Het straalt energie uit en zit vol ritmische passages, afgewisseld met Hollywood-achtige klanken. |

Vervolgens hoort u in ‘Trimurti’ (2021) van Carlos Micháns, de stemmen van Brahma, Vishnu, en Shiva, goden uit de mythologie van de Hindoes. Zij nemen u mee in dit driedelige werk langs de natuurlijke levenscyclus: geboorte, volwassenheid en sterven. |

Mozart schreef zijn kwintet voor piano, hobo, klarinet, fagot en hoorn in 1784. Het wordt besc programma: ouwd als een hoogtepunt in zijn werken voor kamermuziek. Hij laat hierin horen hoe goed hij de klank van de piano en de kleuren van de verschillende blaasinstrumenten tot één geheel kan laten samensmelten. |

We would love to welcome you to the coming concert in our series Chamber Music under the Dom with the Rietveld Ensemble on Sunday evening October 22nd at 8 PM in the Marnixzaal in the Utrecht Music School, Domplein 4, Utrecht.
We will be performing works for winds and piano in various combinations. Before the intermission, you will hear 3 works from the 20th and 21st centuries with after the break Mozart’s well loved Quintet in Eb for piano and winds. |

The concert opens with the Sonatina by the French composer Jolivet for oboe and bassoon (1961) a hidden gem in the chamber music repertoire. The two instruments engage in a lively dialogue with many contrasting elements; rhythmical and then lyrical passages, stimulating dissonances and then pleasing harmonies. |

In “Trimurti” (2021) by the Argentinian/Dutch composer Carlos Micháns we hear the voices of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, gods from Hindu mythology and we experience the natural life cycle of birth, maturity, and death. |

The Sextet (1933) by the Dutch composer Leo Smit was written for members of the Concertgebouw orchestra. It radiates energy and is full of rhythmical passages alternating with sounds reminiscent of Hollywood. |

Mozart wrote his Quintet for piano, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and horn in 1784. In this masterpiece, we hear how Mozart melts the sounds of the piano and the various wind instruments into one glorious whole. |
